The Hiss Explosion, Substandard, Into the Void, The International Telepaths, Idols of Eve, Creation, Christchurch Feb 6th 2004
I’m a bad person I admit it. I didn’t show up until substandard and Idols of eve had finished and Into the Void were rounding up their set… but waitangi day BBQ’s are nothing to be ignored… and once partying starts, It seems logical that having worn out one welcome to head into town and see what is going on at Creation. Plus, I was on crutches… which limits the dancablity of an evenings proceedings.
Having only heard the hiss explosion on cd, I was plesantly surprised at their ability to translate it live in a sublime manner which resonated round creation brilliantly. I then got called back to the door where I, due to my injury, was coaxed into taking peoples money and telling them what wonders lay within Creation’s walls. Therefore I was chair bound for about 60% of the International Telepaths, (fucking brilliant by the way)… its the sad but honest truth that I didn’t see much, but i heard all, and I am looking forward to seeing them play up here again soon, as they had a lot to offer and i’d actually like to see it as opposed to just hear it next time round.
