Day 07 – A picture of your most treasured item and a song that reminds you of a certain event
My most treasured possessions are these three rings. They are the rings of 3 Millers. My great great grandmother, my great grandmother Miller’s wedding rings, the third is the ring my grandfather who died in the second world war had. It is enscribed with the initials FRM- the same as mine.
My brother lost this ring as a toddler in the front yard at Knowles St. At the age of 10 I found it while digging for “treasure” under my mother’s roses. I was genuinely surprised I actually found treasure.
My mum finally gave it to me permanently at Christmas this year.
Song for a certain event:
You Tube does not seem to have an official video for this song, I can’t remember if there was one. Anyway, flashback to 1995- the movie Clueless has been released, and because I’m cool I have bought the soundtrack on CASSETTE!
Its Caroline’s birthday, her 12th birthday. Christine (famous for her 15 seconds of fame with Jon Stewart from the Daily Show a fortnight ago), Jess (she once closed down rural schools around NZ), Nike (the one who owned the awesome kebab shop opposite the library), Rebecca (my friend who I hung with in 4 different cities last year), and myself are staying in a guest house in Akaroa. As the special birthday treat, we’re going out on the boat to look at the dolphins.
So the Clueless soundtrack is our soundtrack to the weekend, and in particular this tune:
What can I say, 12-13 year old girls. It was either this, No Doubt or Ace of Base. Oh mid ninties, your pop music has a lot to answer for.
