Still not sure how I broke my website. It seems I have though, which is kind of crap. I am going to need to get Kale to tell me what I’ve done wrong though, because I seriously don’t “get” drupal beyond the really basic stuff.
I went to see Good Laika on Thursday night. They were excellent, it’s quite frustrating when you know a band should be bigger than they are but just haven’t made it big yet. The show was mostly family of the band. Still it was lovely and I’m secretly glad I got to enjoy it with a small group of friends.
Last night, exhausted from work, I went out at the encouragement of David. Nick, Timmy and Eamonn had gone to a party at Katie’s but I wasn’t really keen because Timmy’s description of what it was going to be like was pretty creepy. Hah.
David had gone to the rugby with his friend Ryan. I was lying in bed, in the warmth when David sent me a message asking what I was up to. Ashamed by how my Friday night was turning out I replied that I would meet them in town in 20 minutes.
We met at the Yellow Cross but as the rugby munters started to settle in, I suggested (foolishly) that we go to Le Petite Croix next door. As we wandered in I figured we might not have made the best decision as this place looked pretty pretentious. It’s probably the kind of place you go on those quiet romantic dates. Not with two guys who have just been hanging out at rugby with men with buckets on their heads and while wearing a $2 Op Shop purple rain coat.
Anyway determined to stick with our choice, we sat down and checked out the wine list. Ryan works for a wine exporter so he knew a bit about wines, but I didn’t discover that till a bit later. I ordered a creme brulee because I wanted something sweet. Ended up ordering a nice dry Riesling. David asked for a beer, Ryan ordered a Martini. We discussed Martini drinking preferences for a while. The waiter was French, and pretentious. David asked for a glass for his beer, it never came. The Martini was heavy on the Gin, so Ryan didn’t like it. He found it a bit strong, I would possibly agree. In the end I offered Ryan a swap and drank the cocktail and he drank my wine.
After that we went to GBM to see the T54. Hung out with Rose and Courtney at some Korean karaoke bar for a while. I suddenly felt quite tired but managed to struggle though the show. T54 was very loud. Perhaps a little too loud for the number of people in a small bar. GBM was quite empty actually. Pretty much everywhere is when the weather is bad.
I spent a large proportion of the Artisan Gun’s set, standing outside talking shit to a quite drunk Aidan. After the show David and I walked home and had a pretty intense conversation about relationships. I always wonder how I can give out advice on how relationships should work, but somehow I do. I never follow my own advice though.
