In my delirious, somewhat half asleep state I agreed.<\/p>\n<p>So at an hour that most people I know would still be sleeping, I found myself climbing up one very steep hill.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm3.static.flickr.com\/2469\/3977655097_85a2146d6d.jpg\"><br \/>\nThis is the view from a bit over half way up, looking down on the Heathcote Valley.<\/p>\n<p>On the way down I slipped on the shingle path and made a mess of my left leg. It was quite bloody and gross, but Sarah&#8217;s mother cleaned it up for me.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm3.static.flickr.com\/2453\/3977655093_701e2606a7.jpg\"><br \/>\nThis is it much later in the night, after the bloody and redness was gone.<\/p>\n<p>After David and I had dinner on the verandah last night, Chloe came round to go star gazing. We got talking about the Bridle Path and I went on a google search to find images of the steep path.<\/p>\n<p>I ended up coming across this website http:\/\/canterburyheritage.blogspot.com\/ which has some crazy and very cool old images of Christchurch.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/lh5.ggpht.com\/_jBNDd8VC61Y\/Sab_dze7GdI\/AAAAAAAABW8\/7qRtpJSTguo\/tunnel1964.jpg\"><br \/>\nThis was the first one I found. I think its really awesome. On the way to our walk we missed the turn off and ended up driving through the tunnel and having to turn back.<br \/>\nThere was a lot of discussion on how well the tunnel had aged considering how used it is and how old it is.<\/p>\n<p>One of the things I love about that image is the depiction of cyclists going through the tunnel.
