Tally Ho!

Well we did it. There is a first issue out on the streets for all of Christchurch to read. I love it. I can now finally sleep without the impending sense of doom.
I put a lot of trust in a couple of people to really make things happen, and I’m glad that now, when it really matters they didn’t fail me.
I didn’t sleep well for a long time, because the past has told me not to put too much trust in people to get things done. I’m glad I went for this leap of faith because Tally Ho has the potential to be amazing.

So if anyone actually does read this, go into town tomorrow and grab a copy.

Last Night

I attempted to make an awesome meal for someone. I don’t think I failed.
Then we sat on the couch and watched a movie. I thought I’d actually had a really good night.

…then after I dropped him home, as I was driving back, I saw Nick, T’Nealle and Timmy walking up Colombo St.

I pulled over and picked them up…
We went up the Summit Rd and took them to the Bridle Path look out. We talked shit for a while then drove into the clouds and down Mt. Pleasant.

Overall, the best Wednesday I’ve had in a while. Pity about the super sore arms and the being doped on painkillers to numb the pain from the vaccines I have been given. Damn you Peru and your crazy diseases.

Because I just might do it

People who know me well will know I am a list maker. I get things done by making lists and often not sticking to them well.

I have a list of things that I need to do in the next 3 weeks.
I figure if I post it on here, it just might happen. Nothing like telling everyone you’re going to do something to motivate yourself to actually do it.

  • T Shirt Screen Printing
  • Make mix cd’s for a bunch of people I want to give them to before I go
  • Spend time one on one with Nike, Caroline, Will, Nick, Melinda, Eamonn, T’Nealle, David
  • Have dinner or hang out with Anton, Matt, Rose Lu, James O, Hollan, James M, Laura, Timmy, Todd and Henry (maybe a risk rematch!)
  • Finish repairing my travel carry bag
  • Sort items for next weekends garage sale
  • Find somewhere to actually store what I am keeping
  • Buy a travel size external hard drive
  • Sort travel insurance
  • Get my yellow fever immunisation
  • Become like the mafia and collect on all the people who owe me cash
  • Sort out all the crap on my ipod
  • Make cases for Ipod & Headphone/Digital Camera/small travel laptop (!!!-Yes I am acquiring one)
  • Post Mandi’s CD (holy crap a whole 9 months later!)
  • Post Joff’s birthday present

    Help!

It has now occurred to me how much I am running out of time.
    26 Days left in Christchurch

I desperately need to sort all my junk, which is beyond hard to motivate myself to do. I want to spend as much time as possible in the presence of people who are important to me and I’ll miss like crazy when I’m gone. I think ideally it will be one on one time, and perhaps involve mini road trips to places I’ll miss when I’m away.

I’m going to try and organise to get a “family portrait” of sorts with all the people I will miss. It might be hard to get them all in the same place at the same time though. I know I discussed with Timmy once, that before I leave we would take a picture with us in it together. I think I’d like a picture of the family in front of the log cabin.

    true love and friendship

Here I am with two of my favourite people in the world on New Years day. Out of the 6 people who I could not live without in this world it makes me sad that I’ve only seen two of them since New Years Eve.

I should say that I do have a world of people who are incredibly important to me, outside of the 6 I’m thinking of. I’ve actually spent a lot of quality time with some of the others over the last few days and I think I’ll miss them terribly also.

I started packing boxes over the last couple of days. There will be a garage sale at the Log Cabin on the 16th.

    2010

    Things I learned after midnight.

  • I really do have an amazing network of friends who created the best night out I’ve had in a long time.
  • Always make sure my spare socks are in my bag.
  • Time really doesn’t change everything, and that some people, and situations can be the same even after 1, 5, 7 or 10 years.
  • The third point, is something I perhaps should have realised a long time ago, but I have pinned so much of what I want to happen in my life on time. Letting things evolve and grow. I don’t want knowing this to ruin hope.

So aside from these things, New Years was amazing. The people who put the effort in, made an amazing night. I kind of wish I’d drunk less, and brought a warmer pair of socks.

Tommorrow I’m taking Josh to the carnival. We’re going to take an awesome road trip. I think Rose is coming with us. I’ll see who else I can round up. Its been nearly 6 years since I last went. The carnival is so traditional. Fingers crossed the weather will hold up Read more →
